Salaried GP opportunity: 4-8 sessions.

Closing date

Salaried GP opportunity for 4 to 8 GP sessions

We are looking for a GP to join our welcoming, hardworking, and forward-thinking team. The specific days, sessions and working hours are negotiable according to your availability but would preferably be on regular days of the week. We offer competitive remuneration.

Kingskerswell & Ipplepen is a successful and well-regarded GP training and dispensing medical practice in South Devon with a list size of circa 12,000. We have been rated outstanding by CQC in all five key areas and rank amongst the highest nationally in our patient survey results. The practice has an excellent reputation for clinical outcomes and delivering quality patient centred services. We are a training and research practice with a culture of personal development and education. We operate from two purpose-built premises, which also accommodate a Dispensary, Peninsula Ultrasound, Health Visitors and a Pharmacy. Our practice population covers a mix of urban and rural areas.

We have worked hard to ensure that the day-to-day work of our clinicians is achievable, allowing the job to be enjoyable and ensure resilience in the team. Quality of life is important; we structure our workload and support each other to manage day to day demand. We run a total triage system which allows more independence on how the day is managed. We want to make your day manageable and successful, and we want to get you home to your families on time, at the end of the day.

Our mission is to provide primary care services through a team-based approach, preserving the best elements of traditional general practice supported by advanced technology. We want to empower patients as active partners in their healthcare. We are committed to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals and continuously adopting best practice to ensure the highest standard of care for our community.

We have a multidisciplinary team consisting of GP Partners, salaried GP, retainer GP, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Social Prescriber and a Health and Wellbeing team.

We encourage professional development for all our clinicians and enjoy our role as a training practice for GPVTS registrars. No matter our experience level, each and every one of us is supported and encouraged to reach our potential.

This role would be equally attractive for a GP that has recently completed their training (and is therefore eligible for a NTP Fellowship), as well as for more experienced GPs. We are passionate about advancing Primary Care to meet the current and future challenges.

Some of our benefits are:

  • Indemnity paid by the practice
  • 6 weeks annual leave
  • 1 week study leave

The Practice is part of the Newton West Primary Care Network (PCN).

We are a SystmOne practice.

If you would like an informal chat about how we work or would like to come and visit, please do contact our Practice Manager, Mark Procter at mark.procter@nhs.net.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Applications will be considered at the time of applying.
